In the complex and highly regulated world of commercial aviation, product management is a critical function that goes beyond a typical software or consumer goods role. A product manager at Airbus acts as the senior executive of their product, overseeing its entire lifecycle from initial concept to end-of-life.

A position for product manager has become available in the Enterprise Architecture team within Airbus Commercial. 

Primary Responsibilities:

Product Strategy & Roadmap Development:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify challenges, pain points, and market gaps to define problem statements.

• Develop and maintain the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with Airbus’s & digital’s strategic priorities.

• Define short-term focus areas and long-term goals while mapping them to business objectives.

• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to position Airbus’s innovative solutions effectively.

Stakeholder & Customer Engagement:

• Work with customers, internal teams, and stakeholders to define and prioritize product features.

• Gather, analyze, and document customer and business requirements, converting them into actionable user stories.

• Facilitate cross-functional discussions and workshops to capture AS-IS processes and future opportunities.

• Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to ensure feasibility and impact assessment.

Product Execution & Lifecycle Management:

• Drive the end-to-end product lifecycle, from concept to deployment and post-launch enhancements.

• Establish and track KPIs, milestones, and financial impact metrics.

• Develop frameworks for value and impact mapping to measure product success.

• Ensure compliance version control, release planning, and effective feature rollout strategies.

• Drive Make vs Buy decisions

• Ensure skill development of the team members

• Online delivery and adherence to SLAss

Business & Financial Planning:

• Develop and present business cases, cost-benefit analyses(ROI, BEP) and financial impact assessments.

• Align product initiatives with Airbus’s financial and operational goals.

• Support budget management and resource allocation for projects.

• Drive for optimisation of budgets and spends

Qualification & Experience:

Required:

• A Bachelor/ Master Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or relevant field with  overall 18&43;  years of  software industry experience in which at least 5&43; years of product management experience

• Must have experience in managing a high performing team, including vendor resources,  of at least 10 under direct supervision following agile methodology/methodologies at scale

• Strong stakeholder management

• Good in product and project financials and budgeting

• Good risk management skills

• Thorough understanding of costs and managerial economics(ROI, CapEX, OPEx, BEP, etc..)

• Hands on experience data products modelling and management

DataEngineering

• Good knowledge of ETL & ELT pipelines with hands on experience on the ETL /ELT tools like skywise, databricks, etc.. 

• Thorough understanding of datalakes and datawarehouses

• Working experience on API, MongoDB, Database, NodeJS, Angular JS, Container, Jenkins

Data Analytics

• Hands on experience on data analytics and visualization tools like tableau/qlikview/powerBI/skywise

• Knowledge of extracting data from one or more data sources which can vary from structured to unstructured data format/source

• Expert understanding of data analytics and programme finances

Desired:

• Experience in  data architecture

• Knowledge of architecture frameworks(TOGAF)

• Strong in written and verbal communication

• Certification on product management and / or agile is desirable

• Good understanding of product architecture surface

• Awareness of security by design
